This poem was written to reflect the joys and respect I found in others while working for the Appalachian District of the United States Postal Service. The health issues that I have forced me to resign:( This will never change the wonderful times shared while employed in this company with the people I met along the journey:)
I hope you enjoy The Postal Blues.
We work daily protecting the security we have come to know, delivering importance to the individuals that keep our communities strong. The secrets of their lives we shield everyday. The joy of this job is the reason why we stay.
We know the happiest of moments that families have shared. We know the saddest that makes life hard to bare. We welcome the new with smiling faces. We hate to see anyone leave our area for new places.
We love the challenge of the goals this employment brings. How could we not let the joy sing? The Postal Blues are clothing that we must wear. It is more than a color. It is a statement of the love we share.
This poem was written and shared in various outlets in the USPS of our state and the postmaster league organization. Attachments:
