He says he’s lost his will to live. Too much pain in life to merit The struggle––no! more the façade He’s hated posing all these years.
As for the good times, he will say, the few smiles they offered me Didn’t last long and they were gone. For the most part this life’s been hard.
He says there’s nothing he wouldn’t give To walk through life’s door a free man, To lay aside the negative, Earn the sleep he would inherit.
How sad this life he can’t forgive, Prefer to die without regret!
